10-12mm White Colored Keshi Pearl Strand

Keshi pearls are traditionally formed when a bead nucleated oyster or mollusk rejects the nucleus and forms a separate pearl sac and creates a flat solid nacre pearl. Of course, almost all of our freshwater pearls are tissue nucleated, but every so often we get the same flat pearls.

Keshi pearls are somewhat flat and nugget-like in smaller sizes, but resemble cornflakes as they get larger. They`re perfect for use in contemporary jewelry. There are approximately 55 pearls per each 15-15.5 inch long, loose, unfinished strand, weighing in at about twenty three grams per strand.
